Classical art—especially its dark, melancholic, and morbid aspects—has always been a major source of inspiration for me and is a recurring theme in my designs for Morbid Midgards.

For these coasters, I drew inspiration from two of my favorite visual worlds: “La Femme Chauve-Souris” by Albert Joseph Pénot and “Monastery in the Oak Forest” by Caspar David Friedrich. Both works feature the Morbid Midgard logo and blend classical art with a dark aesthetic.

The coasters are made of ceramic and have a cork backing, which makes them not only beautiful but also practical for everyday use: They sit securely on the table, protect delicate surfaces, and transform a simple everyday item into a small work of art.

Perfect for coffee, wine, candles, your desk, or simply as a decorative accent in a dark, classic interior.

For anyone who doesn’t want boring coasters, but something beautiful, special, and a little bit morbid.
